LIFEGroups: Speed Belong

While every Sunday is a great Sunday to check out our adult communities, Sunday August 24th is a special Sunday designed to connect with LIFEGroups. We call it ‘Speed Belong,’ because even though your meeting will be brief, you’ll have the insight to find the perfect fellowship to join long term.You’ll spend about 20 minutes getting to know the group leaders and members, then a tone will sound, indicating the next group on your list is ready to meet you. If you’ve never tried LIFEGroups, mark this Sunday on your calendar as the day to check it out. If you want to know more about this, please reach out to david.fuquay@friscofirst.church.

You can Make a difference right here by packing food at the Children’s Hunger Fund location in Frisco. Serve as a LIFEGroup, family, or individual by partnering with Children’s Hunger Fund. We will pack food for children and families in need in our community and around the world. Each Food Pak costs about $8; if you would like make a monetary donation toward Food Paks, do so at the link above.

We live in a broken, sad, scary place. We don't need to watch the natural disasters and political unrest in the news to know what our bodies already know. Our bodies get sick. Our minds are fragile. The mortality rate for humans is astonishingly high. There's plenty to worry about, and the world is full of faulty solutions for our anxieties. But true peace comes when we learn to hold God's Word up to what worries us. There, we learn we can't fix ourselves; we can't protect ourselves. Instead, the Bible tells us we can rest, knowing that Jesus walked into the broken, sad, scary places to rescue us and love us. He is the One who fixes. His is the only protection that matters. Join Scarlet Hiltibidal in this 8-session study to learn how we can practically take hold of the perfect peace that is only available through God as we dive deeply into His Word, embrace the practice of prayer, and live authentically in the support of our communities of faith. facilitated by Carrie Martin, Heather Wright, and Kelly Shoemaker.
